Welcome to Fray Dikat Studio, a little corner of the web where we’re always making things and trying something new. I’m Fray, the artist, maker, and dreamer behind this studio. My blog is a celebration of the creative journey—a place to share my experiments, successes, and lessons learned as I explore a wide range of interests because, let’s be honest, we have to mix things up to keep this neurodivergent brain of mine entertained.
Who Am I?
I’m an lifelong learner and self-taught creative with a love for exploring new skills and mediums. My current hyperfocuses and ongoing interests include:
- Digital Art: I have a tablet, a boat load of ideas, and a ton of exuberance, so I’m diving in headfirst and seeing what I can design digitally. Expect to me to share tutorials that I’m learning from, resources, and my experiences and creations.
- Embroidery and Sewing: I am an experienced sewist of cough*many*cough years. I love embroidery, quilting, and a variety of fiber arts, and I also love to combine them with paint on occasion. Expect embroidery patterns of my own design and maybe even some tutorials on how to combine fiber and other mediums.
- Acrylic Painting: Not my strongest skill, but there is nothing like the tactile feel of brush in hand and pulling the paint across canvas. I’m still learning this medium and invite you to learn with me!
- Crochet: Hooking that yarn is another favorite craft that will likely make an appearance. If I can ever get back to that skull granny square blanket I was working on…
- Cooking: Creativity isn’t limited to art—I find joy in experimenting with flavors and sharing recipes.
- Anything Else That Inspires Me: My curiosity often leads me to try new things, and I’m always up for a creative challenge.
Why I Started Fray Dikat Studio
As an introvert with anxiety disorder, connecting with other creatives has always been a challenge for me. So, I created this blog to document my journey and connect with others who share a passion for creativity. Whether you’re an artist, a maker, or someone looking for inspiration, I hope my projects and spark your own imagination.
Join Me on This Journey
Creativity is better when shared, so let’s connect. I’d love to hear your thoughts, see your projects, and grow together as a community of makers and dreamers. Whether you’re here for inspiration, collaboration, or just to say hello, welcome to the studio! Grab a cup of coffee and let’s make something!
