Creative Chaos at Fray Dikat Studio:

A Little Bit of Everything, All at Once

If you’ve been wondering why I haven’t been posting much on social media, it’s because there’s a lot happening behind the scenes right now! The truth is, I can’t focus on just one project for too long—I work best when I can jump between projects, keeping things fresh and exciting. Of course, this means everything takes a bit longer to finish, but it makes the process so much more fun for me.

Right now, my biggest inspirations are moon themes and LGBTQ+ supportive art. The moon has always been a creative obsession of mine, and with everything happening in the world, Pride feels more important than ever. So, naturally, my projects are reflecting both of these passions.

Finding Direction for Fray Dikat Studio

I keep going back and forth on whether I want to specialize in a specific type of art or just embrace my chaotic creative energy. In an ideal world, I’d focus on whatever excites me at the moment—but I also know that’s not the best business strategy. (This might explain why I’m not exactly a wildly successful entrepreneur… yet! 😂)

I’m also debating whether to sell only my art or also offer tutorials and patterns for others to create their own pieces. The struggle is real, but for now, I’m rolling with the idea that Fray Dikat Studio is about creating, sharing, and embracing the process, no matter how scattered it may seem.

Choosing a Sales Platform

Another big decision I’m working through is where to sell my work. I need a platform that works for both digital and physical products while being affordable and supportive of creatives. Right now, I’ve narrowed it down to Ko-Fi and Patreon, and once I finalize my choice, I’ll be setting up shop with the products I already have ready to go!

What I’m Working On Right Now

Here’s a look at some of my current projects (aka the many things distracting me from picking just one focus).

🏳️‍🌈 Embroidery

  • A fun LGBTQ+ embroidery pattern that I’ll be offering as a freebie once it’s ready. Sneak peek coming soon.
  • A tutorial on upcycling an old t-shirt with embroidery to turn it into wall art or a pillow. (See “Lucky” picture above!)
  • Experimenting with thread painting and creating original embroidery pieces to sell. (See partially completed moon piece on purple background above!)

🌙 Painting

  • The first of a moon & stars painting series! I’m almost finished, but it feels like it’s missing something—still figuring that part out.
  • Two more paintings in this series are planned and will be available for sale once completed.

✨ Shirts, Stickers, Mugs, etc. (COMING SOON!)

Pansexual Pride design example.
  • A series of digital designs for each of the Pride flags, which can be printed as stickers, shirts, mugs, etc.
  • Designs already completed: lesbian, bisexual, nonbinary, pansexual, asexual, and aromantic flags.
  • These designs are semi-stealth, making them subtle enough to wear in less accepting areas while still offering visibility and solidarity.
  • I have three more designs to go, but I’m hoping to launch these in just a few weeks!

🎭 Other Craft Projects

  • A moon-themed Mardi Gras bead mosaic! I’ve been filming the process, so I might make a video tutorial to go with my written one.
  • My skull granny square crochet afghan, which has been my long-term “pick up when I need a break” project. It’ll get finished… eventually. 😆

Final Thoughts

So yeah, that’s why I’ve been a bit quiet online—I’m juggling a dozen projects at once, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. If you’ve made it this far, thanks for sticking around and supporting my chaotic creative journey. I’m so excited to finally launch some of these projects soon, and I’ll keep you posted as they get closer to release!
